Girls Aloud | Dreams That Glitter | New Book

Lip Gloss…check. High Heels…check. Sequins and bronzer…check. Mini Skirts and Hair extensions…Check. Well it could only mean one thing, Girls Aloud must be in town. Celebrating the launch of their new autobiography “Dreams That Glitter”, Kimberly, Cheryl, Nicole, Sarah and Nadine will be out in full force this evening, signing copies at Waterstones Piccadilly Circus. As Britain’s current most successful Girl Group, Girls Aloud have dominated the British pop music scene since 2002.

Undoubtedly, Girls Aloud started off as another generic and manufactured girl group, with many doubting their long term success. However, almost six years on, and millions of albums sold, Girls Aloud have silenced their critics. Not only by extending their shelf life, but also by growing as a group and more importantly as individuals in their own right. With separate projects away from the group, such as Sarah’s modelling and Cheryl new gig as judge on the X-Factor, goes to show that they have more to bring to the table.

“Dreams That Glitter” will not end world hunger nor will it bring about the end of the current financial fiasco. But what it can promise you is giggles and gossip and let’s face it…it’s always great to have a bit of both.
Head down to Piccadilly Circus’ Waterstones, at 5pm this evening to catch a glimpse of the Girls in all their glory. Thursday 9th October.

Gothic Chic

Going for the gothic look need not mean shaving the sides off your hair, nor does it mean donning ripped hosiery, complete with boots the size of breeze blocks. And it certainly does not mean loading your iPod with a selection of Slipknots greatest hits.

Gothic can be stylish and sexy. Are you ready to embrace the new trend and unleash your inner Goth? The blueprints for this look include: Lace, Leather, Figure Hugging Silhouettes, Pearls, Black Beads, Silver Accents with Red Undertones.

Topshop’s Lace section gives you an idea of what to go for
Glamour’s top ten Gothic beauty trends will help you out on this.
And if you aint hit by the credit crunch…check out the price tag on the leggings featured in Grazia this week.

Stick to those rules, and we’ll have you looking like Ashley Simpson or Kat Von D, rather than Morticia Adams or Marilyn Manson…(OOOOO Scary)!!

Future Queen of England | Present Queen of Style?

It’s time for a royal shake up, and Kate Middleton’s arrival on the royal scene has done just that. She’s quite the celebrity right now. What she’s wearing…who she’s dating…where she’s clubbing – all questions which keep her firmly in the public eye, and constantly under the scrutiny of the old cronies back at No.1 Buckingham Palace. Vanity Fair focuses on “princess” Kate’s allure, designers who want to use her as their muse, and the effect she has on the royal family. She could quite possibly be our Queen of Hearts.

Britannia rules the Waves…and the Catwalk

No one country has single handedly contributed more to the world of fashion than Great Britain…yes rivals may raise an eyebrow or two and argue that France and Italy win the race. But in my eyes (yes the eyes of a Brit) Great Britain unashamedly wins the race hands down.
If you don’t trust my better judgement, trust that of the BBC as they showcase a series of documentaries celebrating the best of British Fashion.

Purple Haze

According to

Vogue , the next make up trend will arrive in a purple haze. Those trend watchers have determined that the new colour fashionistas everywhere will be donning on their lips is purple. Could it be because of its regale qualities of maybe it’s something to do with a nostalgic trip back to the 80’s? Already sported on many models at this year’s fashion catwalk shows…it’s safe to say…The futures bright…The futures purple!?!
