For movie fans out there, there’s some exciting news!
A new search engine for movies has just gone live. The UK’s free and comprehensive movie search engine, FindAnyFilm.com, is designed to tell you where, when and how you can watch the movie of your choice. Whether it’s new releases in cinemas/DVD, or the TV screening schedules, FindAnyFilm searches for all the viewing options. Why don’t we walk through a search?
Say you want to go catch a movie on the weekend and want to know what’s available in the cinemas; you can do a “Cinemas” search on FindAnyFilm by entering your postcode. The result will show a movies timetable for the next 7 days showing in all cinemas within the 20-mile radius.
Or suppose you want to watch a particular movie; The Dark Knight. Simply type in the film title in the search bar, and voila, it will bring out the film trailer, details, and all available viewing options in the UK.
- In the Cinema – further your search by entering your postcode to find a viewing timetable for cinemas within a 20-mile radius.
- On TV – List national, regional, cable and satellite TV listings in the UK. It shows listings up to 14 days in advance
- On DVD – Search results for DVD retailers in the UK; along with its price and availability. It searches through major retailers including Amazon, HMV, Tesco, ASDA, and more. By selecting the retailer of your choice, it links you directly to the online stores.
- On Blu-ray – Same as DVD option, it lists out all the available UK retailers offering Blu-ray titles and lists its prices and availability.
- To Download – Search for legal, high-quality, and virus-free film downloads. Options are available for both PC and Mac users, where it directly links you to the iTunes store.
- To Watch Online – With this option, you don’t have to download the movie to your hard disk. It’s similar to watching TV on demand; you can watch the movie via video streaming online. The search leads you to services such as Sky Player where it offers on-demand online viewing.
- In Other Formats – Depending on the availability, some films might offer video files for hand-held devices such as, iPod, Nintendo DS or PSP.
When I first heard of the “movie search engine”, I thought it would be just a database of advertisers with biased film information. But this isn’t the case with FindAnyFilm. Sponsored by the UK Film Council, it offers trust-worthy information on films across a variety of formats.
I’m impressed! But don’t take my word for it, search for it at FindAnyFilm.com
